Flannel Fest – a 90s Outfield Music Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at SRP Park, 187 W. Railroad Ave., in North Augusta. Gates open at noon. The lineup for Flannel Fest includes Black Daze, the Ultimate Soundgarden Tribute; Rooster, a tribute to Alice in Chains; and Corduroy, the Pearl Jam experience. The first band will take the stage at 1 p.m. General admission tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the gate. VIP tickets are available for $75 in advance and $100 at the gate while supplies last and include appetizers and snacks, drinks and access to the covered E-Z-GO Picnic Patio area with private access to the TaxSlayer Terrace as well as Field Access. A documentary titled “Descended from the Promised Land: The Legacy of Black Wall Street” will be shown Sunday, Oct. 22, in the Etherredge Center at USC Aiken. The documentary is about the Tulsa Race Massacre where North Tulsa’s Greenwood District, the most prosperous Black community in America, was violently destroyed in 1921. After the film, there will be a panel discussion with prominent African American leaders and historians from Aiken to answer questions from the crowd. Every ticket will include entry for a pre-show reception.
